We had an amazing event, thanks to several regiments in attendance. We are currently working out details for our regularly scheduled events, but we hope to see you at the next one!

Once again, thank you to all regiments and regimental commanders for attending, with special thanks to the CSA for helping spread the word and bring in multiple regiments.

If you would like your regiment to attend the next event, please add: 1stBat_Maj_Sheffield on steam!

Also thank you for attending Marks  ;)

Our first event is on the 4th of July, here is the info:

Celebrate America! Whigs and Torries MOD 4th of July Revival

The 1st Battalion of His Majesty's Royal Marines, a Whigs and Torries Regiment, will be hosting our first Whigs and Torries Mod Revival event on the 4th of July!

Who: The 1st Battalion of His Majesty's Royal Marines is hosting the event, but other regiments/companies are welcome and encouraged to come.
When: 4th of July, 2PM CST
What: Whigs and Torries Mod Revival event, this will be the first of many events on the mod, hoping to revive the mod until the standalone is released.

Please add 1stBat_Maj_Sheffield on steam for information on the server and the event. All are welcome to join the event, please contact us asap.

Rules and Regulations:
A "line" consists of 3 or more people, if you have less than 3 members (due to casualties or upon joining) join an allied line.
Have tags for all members so we know who is who, and so the event will remain orderly. There is no specific regulation for tags, you just need them.
The only other rule is to respect others and have fun.

We would plan to host the event on an NA time frame. If you are EU, we can either host an event on the weekends earlier in the day, or you can host your own. This is just to get the mod back up and running, so we would have to coordinate.

I am also NA, so that would work for us.

Events / Revival Event?

So as a reenactor of the time period, I obviously love the American Revolution.
Therefore, I decided to make the proposition, that we have an event that attempts to revive the mod, until the stand alone comes out of course.

Please feel free to offer up times, days, whatever suggestions you may have.

That's about it.

Thanks

Yes, absolutely. The ramrod is actually attached to the musket at first, and then the character pulls it from the housing as part of the animation before replacing it. I need to tweak the timings a little bit: the challenge is that the animation has to be reasonably short (say, 15 seconds compared to a more "realistic" 20 seconds) but I also need to make sure the fine details are still captured, and right now I think priming the barrel is a little too quick compared to the rest of the animation which is why you probably missed the bit where he actually pulled out the ramrod.

I'll be continuing to refine the animation as I go along :)

Awesome, I just couldn't see it in the video, but I'm glad that's going to be a feature! :)

Because we can't do it the Sharpe's way. It would be way too dangerous!

You'd also need a really powerful set of lungs, and a smaller caliber barrel than the ball you're using. But I'm sure it would work though, and be 110% safe.

Firstly, want to comment on the attitude of the devs (it's a compliment don't worry :) )

Essentially, even though y'all didn't release Blog 11, you actually tell us that it's coming, and why it's not out yet, which is essential in keeping the community happy, which honestly, top marks (Pun intended) for that.

Secondly, I of course would like to comment on the actual blog post.

It's looking great so far, and I like that you added a free-look, a nice little feature. I also like you added ramrods, will there be an animation that shows the character model actually pulling out the ramrod, or will it just be an empty hand, like in Mount and Blade? Just curious.

Basically, wow, great dev team, great communication with the community, great game :)

ENLIST TODAY
THE 1ST BATTALION OF HIS MAJESTY'S ROYAL MARINES

Seeking any and all able bodied men for immediate enlistment under MAJOR JOHN PITCAIRN
Enlistment stations in the port cities of EDINBURGH, LONDON, and BRISTOL
__________________________________________________________________________________________

The 1st Battalion of His Majesty's Royal Marines is now recruiting! We are looking for anyone who wants to fight for king and country, and put down the rebellion in the colonies.

We are a Line Infantry Regiment, based in NA, however we will accept other time zones.

We are not a strict group as for rules, other than treat others like you want to be treated, listen to officers, and just overall be mature when you need to be.

History of the 1st
__________________________________________________________________________________________

The 1st Battalion of His Majesty's Royal Marines was founded along side the Royal Navy, as the first "Marine" unit for the English Navy. They served the nation of England up until the creation of Great Britain. Under George the 1st, they were based in London, but soon found a new home port in Edinburgh, due to the high amount of Scottish soldiers and officers. By 1775, the 1st was one of the original units to arrive in Boston, and is most notorious for being first to come into contact with patriots at Lexington and Concord, as well as being the first unit over the redoubt (Rumored) at Bunker Hill; Where the 1st lost their much beloved commander, John Pitcairn. Soldiers in the Marines are said to have wept when he fell, crowding around him, ignoring the blaze of fire coming from the fortifications. The man credited for the kill was the notorious Peter Salem. He would be carried back to Boston, dying of his wounds within hours after the battle. The 1st would be transferred from army to army, serving in battles such as Saratoga and the siege of Yorktown. They are rumored to be the last British regiment to leave the colonies, and were possibly the ones to fire the "Last shot of the Revolution"
